3.1 ALLOWED CHASSIS - closed wheel (AM)

Tomy Turbos to HOLM-style rules:

All bodies must be manufactured by either the process of casting or injection moulding and must be made only of resin or plastic.  They must represent cars that have raced at Le Mans 24 hour race to FIA rules, that fit onto a standard Tomy chassis without alteration. All bodies must be originally manufactured to fit on a 1½" wheelbase chassis.

All bodies must be a scale, honest representation of an actual 1/1-scale sports racing car which has raced at the actual Le Mans 24 hour race.

All bodies must have a paint scheme of either fictitious or factual origin.
All bodies must be fitted with all of the body manufacturer's original accessories such as: bumpers, windows, heads, rollover bars, wings, etc. Each piece must be in its complete form and in its stock location.
Should any of the body parts mentioned in the body regulation  become fully detached from the body during the race, the object must be glued back into it's proper place for your next race or a penalty will be assessed.

If the body was not originally intended to fit on an Aurora A/FX, Johnny Lightning or Tomy chassis, then plastic side body mounting tab receptacles may be fashioned and glued to the inside of the body sides for the purpose of securing the body to the Chassis.

The body mounting tabs on a standard Tomy / Aurora body that does fit a standard Tomy chassis may be moved to lower the body, however no material is allowed to be removed from the wheel arches or the bottom of the body.

If the body requires additional material to be added to prevent the body from interfering with the track surface or to prevent tire to wheel well clearance problems, then a minimal amount of (no more than 4) round
plastic posts or "stand-offs" (of no more than 0.100" in diameter) may be glued to the underside of the body to correct the problem.
Other than the plastic mounting tab receptacles and posts stated no additional weight can be added to the body.

The body may be lightened by means of grinding material away from the underside and must not weigh less than 3.0 grams.
No extraneous holes may be cut or drilled into the body for the purpose of lightening, although vents, scoops radiator ducts and other normal openings (except windows) may be opened up for a more realistic look.

If a body that was made by the process of injection moulding is being used, the windows must be manufactured by the process of injection moulding and be made of plastic.  The windows may be glued in place.

If a body that was made by the process of casting is being used, the windows must be manufactured by either the process of casting, injection moulding or thermal forming and be made of resin or plastic.  The windows may be glued in place and must fill the window frames.

All drivers must supply an original untouched body of the kind to be raced, to show modifications that they have made to their race body.

Allowed modifications: Pick Up Shoe Springs can be stretched or doubled up only, Pick Up Shoes can be bent or flattened to suit only, Fitting of 'Green' Tomy armatures, Fitment of any SINGLE compound rear tyre, colour must be black. Fitment of plastic double-flanged rear wheels.
