2.0 FORMAT

 2.1 Meeting starts at 10:00am with free practice 30 minutes beforehand. The afternoon session will start 30-60 mins after the end of the morning session.

 2.2 You must book in to race at least 10 minutes before racing commences. If you are unable to do so in person you must text race control on 07754 655761 at least 15 minutes before hand.

 2.3 The racing will be made up of Open-Wheel cars in the & morning closed-wheel cars in the afternoon, unless otherwise specified. Racing formats vary and are explained  here.

 2.4 Races will be of 3 minute duration unless race control should decide otherwise. When the I/S format is used race times will probably be longer than 3 minutes.

 2.5  The winner of Stock F1 will receive a trophy. The winners of the 3 most popular afternoon classes will receive medals or trophies. There will be no separate award for the highest place Main grade driver in Stock F1, and only the winner of the combined Modified/Pro Modified class will receive an award.

 2.6 Tracks must be made from Tomy AFX track pieces, Autoworld track pieces, BSTS pieces and Bowman routed sections. Use of any other manufacturer's pieces will only be allowed by special dispensation from EAHORC. Three inch Tomy hairpins must not be used.

 2.7 Championship points for each class are awarded as follows: 160-130-110-90-70-50-40-30-20-10-5, except Ferrite F1 class where the points are awarded as follows: 160-130-110-90-80-70-60-50-40-35-30-25-20-18-16-14-12-10-8-6-4-2-1. When the I/S race format is used points will be awarded for qualifying: 3 points for pole, 2 for second and 1 for 3rd.

 2.8 Points accrued will also be transferred to the main EAHORC championship, the EAHORC cup (E-Cup for Short), allowing drivers who target one championship to compete with those who do not.

 2.9 Points will only transfer to the EAHORC cup in classes where there were 4 or more competitors.

 3.0 The Champion at the end of each season will be the competitor with the most points after dropping of scores. In the case of a tie, the competitor with the most 1st place finishes will be declared the champion. In the case of further ties,  lower finish positions will be taken into account, starting with 2nd place.

3.0 MARSHALLING

 3.1 Each competitor is to make themselves PROMPTLY available to marshal or run race control whenever requested to do so by the organisers.

 3.2 Track calls may be used at some race meets. Guidelines for their use can be viewed here.

4.0 ALLOWED CLASSES AND CORE RULES (click class name for detailed rules):

Note: A.F.X refers to the Racemasters chassis, Aurora and AFX the older Aurora chassis, Tomy Takara to the Owner's chassis.

 4.1 AM: Stock F1

 4.2 PM: Nascar , Pro Modified , Modified

 4.3 No part of the car can exceed 34mm in width and 17mm from centreline to sides.

 4.4 Non-standard shims or spacers are not allowed on any cars, other than in Modified and Pro Modified.

 4.5 Bodies may be ballasted, but ballast must be glued firmly in place.

 4.6 Completely or predominantly clear bodies are not permitted in any class.

5.0 CONTROLLERS

 5.1 Controllers must terminate with a 3-pin, 2 amp plugs, brake wire connected to the top pin, unless a hosting club provides additional alternative connection methods.

 5.2 EAHORC tracks are wired to the worldwide HO standard, with +ve left rail.

 5.3 Controllers wired for +ve right rail should not be used without consultation with the manufacturer, in all events racers use such controllers entirely at their own risk and EAHORC accepts no responsibility for any damaged caused.

6.0 MAINTENANCE

 6.1 Tyres may only be cleaned with tape or by washing in water.

 6.2 NO spray oils/lubricants or cleaners to be used indoors. Use of Lighter fluid or any form of tyre treatments are not allowed. The organisers reserve the right to request competitors to use less lubricants if they feel it interferes with others or the condition of the track.

Formats

Format 1

Qualifying via 3 minute (unless race control specifies otherwise) heats on all lanes. Lowest score dropped, fastest qualifier is the driver with the highest number of laps from their best three scores combined. Fastest three drivers automatically qualify for the A final, next three for the B and so on. Finals start with the slowest final, the winner of each final 'steps up' to the empty lane in the next final.

Format 2

Qualifying via 30 second individual sessions. Drivers without points in the F1 championship qualify first, in reverse alphabetical order. Then the driver with the lowest points goes next with the championship leader qualifying last. Drivers will then be grouped according to their qualifying position, and will race in that group four times, once on each lane for 3.5 minutes (unless race control specifies otherwise). Worst scores will be dropped, overall positions decided on total of best three scores irrespective of group.

Format 3

Qualifying via 30 second or 5 lap individual sessions. The driver with the most laps gets pole and first choice of final and lane, the second fastest driver chooses second, having the option to pick a free lane in the B final or lower if his/her preferred lane in the A final has gone. The third fastest picks third, and so on. Positions are determined from most laps in any final.

Track Calls

At meetings where races can be paused, such as those not using Tomy timing stations, the host club have the option to use 'track calls'. These will only be used:

If a car ends up in another lane (Anybody may call these).

If the track has a severe break (Anybody may call these).

If a driver feels their lane is noticeably down on power (driver in question only, loss of best heat score or 10 laps deducted from final score for misuse).

Where there is a blind spot, and the adjacent marshals feel they may not retrieve a de-slot car that is blocking a lane before the car in that lane comes through (Marshals only).

Currently, track calls may not be used for hard to reach cars or cars going on the floor. Drivers are encouraged to refrain from making track calls as much as possible, as their judgement may be impaired.

Race control may make a track call judgement at any time.
